Come to a talk where Dr. Bynum Boley from the University of Georgia will trace the evolution of the U.S. National Park System from its inception in the 1800s to the present. The talk will cover the differences among the US National Park System, the US National Forest System, and wilderness areas, so that attendees can learn some of the nuances of US conservation and the different outdoor recreation opportunities by land type. The talk will conclude with some important tips for how to get the most out of visiting US national parks.
