Ski Sweden - Hiking in Sweden.
STF is one of Sweden's largest voluntary organisations, with about 330 000 members.
It operates 315 youth hostels, eight mountain stations, and about 40 mountain huts in remote countryside.
It also has a travel department and a publishing house. Membership activities are arranged by 85 local
associations around the country. STF, whose head office is in Stockholm, has an annual turnover of about SEK 220 million.
IYHF stands for International Youth Hostel Federation, an international chain of youth hostels with 4,500
affiliated hostels in 60 countries. All STF's youth hostels are affiliated to IYHF, and the common HI symbol
is a guarantee of high quality accommodation and a friendly reception.
All members of organisations affiliated to IYHF can stay at the members' price at all of STF's youth hostels,
mountain stations and mountain huts throughout Ski Sweden.
STF has a full-time staff of about 120, of whom about 75 work in the head office in Stockholm.
Others work at the youth hostels and mountain stations which operate under STF's management.
During the winter and summer a further 800 seasonal staff are employed as tour guides.
