Children may stay for free at the youth hostel until and including the year they turn two years of age. This applies provided the child does not occupy a bed of its own. Travellers over the age of 15 are considered adults.

Group and conference bookings are not possible via the online booking system. Please contact the facility in question directly concerning any such inquiries. Child prices do not apply to group bookings.

It is important that you read and understand the general conditions. When you click to “Confirm booking” in the last stage of your booking, you have accepted these conditions and the amount for the accommodation booked will be debited from your card.

Methods for payment
The following cards are accepted for payment: Visa and Mastercard.

Payment conditions
Full payment is made at the time of booking.  When booking, give the credit card number from which you want the payment to be debited. We will send a confirmation by e-mail when the payment has been completed. All prices are shown and debited in Swedish krona (SEK).

Confirmation
After your booking, you will recieve a confirmation by e-mail. Check that this corresponds with your booking! Your user name and password are shown on the confirmation. Save these in case you need to cancel your booking later.

Your personal details are protected according to the Personal Data Act (PUL)
Your address and contact details are stored in our own database. Your details will only e used by STF to provide you with information, travel tips and offers from STF and our cooperation partners. The information will not be released to any other party. You can at any time access your details by contacting us by e-mail, info@stfturist.se, or by letter to Svenska Turistföreningen, Box 17251, 104 62  Stockholm.

General conditions – Accomodation


Prices
The prices given are for members only. Non-members pay 50 SEK extra per adult and night at a hostel (25 SEK extra for children) and 100 SEK extra per adult and night at a mountain lodge (50 SEK extra for children). Any extra supplements for non-members should be paid directly at the hostel/mountain station.

Security
“3 D Secure” (Verified by Visa & Mastercard SecureCode) “3 D Secure” is a security measure which Visa & Mastercard have agreed on to verify the identity of the cardholder in e-commerce transactions. We have fully integrated this technology in our systems. This means that when it is applied, it sends off an instant question about whether there is a code for the card, where the answer is no in the majority of cases. If, however, the card has a 3 D Secure code, the purchaser will be transferred to the card issuing bank to enter his or her personal code to continue the transaction.

Changing your booking
You cannot make a change in your reservation. You have to cancel it and make a new reservation. Please contact the hostel/mountain station before your cancellation in order to check if they can meet the new requirements. Contact details can be found on our website www.svenskaturistforeningen.se

Cancellation coverage can only be ordered via internet at the same time you book your accommodation or package.

Cancellation Coverage - Who is covered?
Cancellation coverage is personal and applies to those people signed on for this coverage.

Cancellation Coverage - When does the coverage apply?
Cancellation coverage applies in case of illness or serious incident and only in connection with the presentation of a doctor’s certificate. You need to cancel the trip as soon as possible once you realise that you are not able to travel.

Cancellation Coverage - Terms and Conditions
Cancellation coverage is repaid only in the event of serious incident, acute illness or death occurring to you or to someone in your immediate family. Immediate family refers to a spouse/registered partner, cohabitant, child, parent or grandparent.

Cancellation Coverage - What does STF compensate?
You will get back everything you paid for your STF accommodation/package except for your membership and the price you paid for the cancellation coverage.

Cancelling your booking
For most hostels/mountain stations cancellations can be made up to 18.00 the day before arrival, while for certain hostels/mountain stations cancellations can be made up to 7 days before arrival.

Cancellation 18.00 the day before arrival
Cancellations can be made up to 18.00 the day before arrival. After this time, no reimbursements of amounts paid will be made.

To cancel your booking:
Log in with your user name and password on this link. These are given on the confirmation that you have received by e-mail. Cancellations will also be confirmed by e-mail. See also the cancellation terms. Reimbursements of amounts paid will be made to your credit card within 3-7 days.

Children 0-2 years old
At hostels children born in, or after, 2007 stay free, as long as they don’t occupy a bed.

Force majeure:
If, due to extreme weather conditions or other unforeseen events in the mountain region, a guest is unable to reach their booked accommodation, the guest has the right to change their booking to accommodation for an equivalent amount at another STF establishment. Alternatively, the guest has the right to cancel their booking and receive a full refund. In such cases, changing/cancellation of a booking should take place at the latest 08.00 on the planned day of arrival. Refunds can be arranged after written communication to the STF establishment concerned. This should contain information on the nature of the force majeure event and the moment when the guest became aware of the event, as well as the bank account number or equivalent information for the refund.

Prices
The prices given here are those for members of STF. Prices for non-members are higher. It is possible in some cases to pay the difference when booking, while in other cases you must pay the difference on arrival at the facility. It is obligatory to be a member of STF for some of our activities.

Age limit
The minimum age for participating in certain activities is 16 years. Details of such an age limit are given in the description of an activity for which it applies.
Obligatory planning meeting
Certain of our activities require that all participants attend a planning meeting on the preceding evening. Details of such a planning meeting are given in the description of an activity for which it will be held.

Cancellation 7 days before arrival
You can cancel without cost up to 7 days (168 hours) before the planned starting time of an activity. No refund will be paid if you cancel less than 7 days (168 hours) before the planned starting time.

You should also read the details of cancellation conditions given above.

Changes made by the organiser before departure for the activity
STF has the right to cancel an activity on safety grounds right up until the planned start or departure time. This may be necessary, for example, in the case of extreme weather or unforeseen circumstances that affect mountain activities. The participants will in this case receive a complete refund, but will not be given priority for booking future activities.

STF has the right also to cancel an activity right up until the planned start or departure time if the minimum number of participants has not been reached. Participants receive a complete refund also in this case.

No refund will be paid if a participant decides to leave an activity.

Confirmation/Voucher
The confirmation you get is your receipt and voucher. Please write it out and bring it with you on your trip. You need to present it upon arrival in each hut or mountainlogde.

Cancellation
Bookings for The Ultimate Outdoor pass and the STF membership cannot be cancelled.

STF membership
If you have purchased a membership, you will receive it at the first facility, so it is necessary that you take this e-mail confirmation with you as a receipt.

Fjälluffa is personal and cannot be refunded.

Print out the booking confirmation that you receive by e-mail, and take it with you. This is your ticket and voucher for overnight accommodation.

The pass cannot be combined with other special offers or campaigns run by STF.
