The Swedish part of E6 winds its way through forest and fields for 1,400 km from Malmö in Skåne to Grisslehamn in Roslagens archipelago.
Skåneleden Trail
E6 begins in Malmö and continues north along almost 250 km of the Skåneleden Trail, the part called the Nord-Sydleden Trail. Follow it to Vittsjö, where you go over to the Kust-Kustleden Trail in a westerly direction. Before reaching the coast, a junction to the Hallandsleden Trail goes north. Skåneleden Trail offers numerous rest shelters with toilets and drinking water. The trail goes through a varying landscape and is for the most part easy hiking.

Hallandsleden Trail
E6 continues along 110 km of the Hallandsleden Trail, all the way close to Kinnared. The Hallandsleden Trail is mainly easy hiking and goes through a variable landscape with much forest. Besides the overnight possibilities close to the trail, the trail also offers rest shelters with toilets and fresh water every 15 km. Accessing a train or bus close to the trail is easy.

Gislavedsleden Trail
The trail, 80 km, travels between Kinnared in Halland to Isaberg/Hestra in Småland

Höglandsleden Trail
This section of the Höglandsleden Trail included in E6 begins in Hestra and gradually turns off in a northeast direction towards the Eksjö area and then Aneby. At the county boundary, E6 connects to the Östgötaleden Trail. This section of E6 is 250 km, with both easily hiked stages and some that go through more difficult terrain.

Östgötaleden Trail
The Östgötaleden Trail is comprised of numerous sub-trails. The sections included in E6 total 210 km and pass by Kisa, Rimforsa, Åtvidaberg and Söderköping. The trail connects to the Sörmlandsleden Trail near to Halsbråten. The trail is easy hiking.

Sörmlandsleden Trail
A marked trail is lacking from Söderköping up until north of Norrköping, where you find the Sörmlandsleden Trail at Stavsjö or Kvarsebo. Taking a bus there from Söderköping is simple. The section without trails is approximately 50 km, while the section of the Sörmlandsleden Trail used by E6 is about 300 km.
