Symbol explanations

Västerås is a culturally rich city beside the shores of Lake Mälaren. Concerts and theatre attracts many visitors and a new multi-purpose arena will soon be completed for sports and entertainment.

The city is close to hundreds of archipelago islands that offer swimming, fishing and great outdoor experiences.

The hostel has modern and comfortable accommodation, just outside central Västerås and close to Vallby open-air museum. Several golf courses are in the vicinity and the closest course is just a stone’s throw away. All rooms are of a high standard with a toilet, shower and TV. Guests also have free access to a relaxation area with a pool, sauna and solarium.

There are many things to do around the hostel. Take a shopping trip around town, picnic at the Vallby open-air museum, or visit Västerås Slott (castle). From the slopes of Djäkneberget you can enjoy lovely views over Västerås and Lake Mälaren. The city centre and surroundings are rich in ancient history, including the Viking grave Anundshög.

This symbol shows that the hostel conforms to recommendations from the De Handikappades Riksorganisation (DHR): the entrance is level, or there is a ramp with maximum gradient 5 cm/m. The front door of the hostel and doors into the guest rooms and toilets are wider than 80 cm. There is at least 80 cm free space at the side of the lavatory and 130 cm in front. The shower is suitable for use by persons with disabilities. There is wheelchair access to kitchens and common rooms. At least two rooms are suitable for use by persons with disabilities.
