STF Hostel Surahammar

Summarhammar is beautifully located beside the river Kolbäcksån, which connects to the Strömsholm canal. The area is also part of the Ekomuseum Bergslagen open-air museum and exhibits several historic industrial environments.

The region developed through iron mining in the 16th century and the ancient industrial community is one of the sights.

Many of Surahammar’s residents took their first breath inside the hostel, as it used to be the local hospital. The hostel offers accommodation in individual rooms and is within walking distance of the town centre.

For motorcycle enthusiasts the largest motorcycle museum in Sweden is a must-see. The museum also displays the first car in Sweden, which was made at the Surahammar factory.

The shower is suitable for use by persons with disabilities. There is wheelchair access to kitchens and common rooms. At least two rooms are suitable for use by persons with disabilities.
