STF Hostel Sala

The hostel lies beside lake Mellandammen, a couple of kilometres from central Sala, in a tranquil environment with a summer church and café. The hostel is close to the silver mine and a picturesque walking area.

Sala is well known for its traditional Sala silver mine, which once supported the town. Today it is a popular tourist attraction and an exciting adventure for the whole family. The Gruvdammsrundan hiking trail is also nearby, and it’s an easy walk to the Långforsen bathing spot.

In Sala you will also find one of Sweden’s oldest health springs, which still gives wellbeing to visitors. The Svartådalen district is close to the well, offering canoe safaris, bird watching and bicycle and hiking trails.
