STF Hostel Köping/Tre Knektar
The Swedish soul may well live in Köping. At the very least, this is where Richard Dybeck, composer of the Swedish national anthem, was born. Köping lies in an inner bay on lake Mälaren and its rich history becomes immediately apparent.
Köping’s city centre is charming, and the stone houses that line the meandering streets are witnesses to days gone by. Both the town and the surroundings have a vivid past, which is reflected in the ancient monuments, churches, museums and old industrial environments.
The hostel is located in the heart of Köping, just a few minutes walk from the centre. The well-equipped rooms are simple and comfortable, and each has its own toilet and kitchenette, as the house was originally a ‘bachelors’ hotel’ for Volvo. From here there are several museums to discover including the popular Bil & Teknikhistoriskt Museum (Museum of Cars and Technological History). The Gammelgården outdoor museum is another popular tourist attraction and offers an enjoyable and relaxing day out.
