Children may stay for free at the youth hostel until and including the year they turn two years of age. This applies provided the child does not occupy a bed of its own. Travellers over the age of 15 are considered adults.

Group and conference bookings are not possible via the online booking system. Please contact the facility in question directly concerning any such inquiries. Child prices do not apply to group bookings.

Times & location: 
You have access to your forest hut from 2pm until 12pm on the following day.

 

Participants:

Forest hike, farytales by the fire, lodging in forest hut,  breakfast (self-service and outdoor.

 

Accommodation: 
Berths in forest hut for 2-3 persons.

 

Information: 
We receomend you to bring weather resistant clothing and footwear for hiking, warm clothing for cold nights, camera, binoculars, torch, sleeping bag, pillow, bathing suit, towel, water bottle, snacks.

 

Other options: Rent sleeping bag equipment, inculed sleeping bag, small pillow and sleeping bag sheet (SEK 150).

Troll family adventure

Take your family for a genuine farytale adventure and meet some of the most mystical Swedish forest creatures. If you are lucky you may dance with an elf, hear a wispering tree or even meet a real forest troll.

Look, a troll! Did you see the elf hiding under that bridge? With a bit of fantasy Kolarbyn becomes like a scene taken out of a farytale. And indeed, the deep Scandinavian forests have inspired to many classical tales of mystical forest characters such as J.R.R Tolkien's hobbits and H.C. Andersen's mountain trolls.

The forest is every kids natural playground, full of fun adventures and new discoveries. Here you can hike safely on the animal's own trails and plunge into the clear water of lake Skärsjön. As the night falls we prepare a dinner together by the fire. Bring something to put on the barbeque. You have your own cosy forest hut where you sleep by the sparking fire. In the morning a breakfast is served in the open.
