Wolf howling in summer
A 2-day thrilling adventure in the Wolf territory. The Summer season (June-September) is a good time to be out with the Wolves. The pups are born so there is usually a lot of activity and this offers good chances to hear and howl along with the Wolves in their natural habitat. Although we rarely see Wolves it does happen every now and then.
Wolves are without a doubt fascinating animals that attract peoples interest more than any other wildlife in the Swedish ecosystem. Mysterious, charismatic, wild and powerful – they stir our imagination, interest and passion.
Our enthusiastic guides will take you close to the one of the local Wolf packs. It is rare to see them but there is still a chance, and just being near to these mystical animals is an experience in itself. During this tour you have the option to sleep one night in a canvas tent right in the Wolf territory.
We travel together by foot and by car in small groups under skilled guidance in one of Sweden´s wolf territories. We offer big chances to hear and howl along with wolves, see tracks and feel their presence. While few people ever get the chance to actually see a wolf, many of our guests have listened to wolves’ howling, and hearing a wolf pack howl in their natural habitat certainly is a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
Our tours are run in cooperation with researchers at Grimsö Wildlife Research Station. Grimsö is Sweden´s leading research center for predators such as Lynx, Brown Bear and Wolf. The tour includes a visit to the station and a detailed lecture on Wolves by a researcher with years of experience of field work with the Scandinavian Wolf population. They share their stories and teaches us more about Wolves in an exclusive in-depth lecture before we head out for our own first-hand experiences in the nearby Wolf territory.
We eat dinner together by the open fire and accommodate in a canvas tipi tent with sleeping bags right in the middle of the wild and lush Wolf territory. We often get up early in the morning and scope for wildlife in meadows and fields. After a long night in the woods and a well deserved breakfast we head back to civilisation with lots of memories. Join us for this hair-raising howling adventure and learn more about this fascinating predator.
