STF Hostel Vara

Vara is located centrally on the vast plains of Västergötland. On this historic land there are both magnificent castles and small farms. The area’s pride, among others, is the magnificent Bjertorps Slott (castle), which has an exciting history.

During winter the hostel is a folkhögskola (folk high school) and is beautifully situated in a park less than five minutes walk to Vara’s town centre. Here you will find pleasant small-town life and several good restaurants. There’s also the musical magnet Vara konserthus (concert hall). Bjertorp’s Slott has a golf course and is just over 10 km away. From Vara it’s not far to Skara Sommarland theme park and the locations for the epic Arn films about medieval knights, the most expensive movie productions in Scandinavian film history.

The front door of the hostel and doors into the guest rooms and toilets are wider than 80 cm. There is at least 80 cm free space at the side of the lavatory and 130 cm in front. The shower is suitable for use by persons with disabilities. There is wheelchair access to kitchens and common rooms. At least two rooms are suitable for use by persons with disabilities.
