Falkängen's handicraft village in Hällekis lies at the foot of Kinnekulle hill.

In a carefully renovated house located on the grounds of a restored mill you'll find the idyllic village where artisans from all over the country exhibit their works throughout the summer months.

The village is from the previous turn-of-the-century and originally served as workmen’s dwellings for mill employees. There were many large families living here and the site was once a bustling residential area. The hostel is located in several of the old craft houses, in newly renovated, bright and pleasant apartments. The unique atmosphere has been preserved and the street looks just as it did 100 years ago.

The best thing about the hostel is perhaps its closeness to the magnificent outdoors. Kinnekulle is like one big park and is perfect for exploring. Here you can rent a bike and enjoy Kinnekulle’s nature up close, or rent a canoe and discover your own cove or island.

Accessibility for persons with disabilities

This symbol shows that the hostel conforms to recommendations from the De Handikappades Riksorganisation (DHR): the entrance is level, or there is a ramp with maximum gradient 5 cm/m. The front door of the hostel and doors into the guest rooms and toilets are wider than 80 cm. There is at least 80 cm free space at the side of the lavatory and 130 cm in front. The shower is suitable for use by persons with disabilities. There is wheelchair access to kitchens and common rooms. At least two rooms are suitable for use by persons with disabilities.
