STF Hostel Gullspång

In Gullspång you can experience nature up close by taking a novel ride on a draisine rail-cycle. The journey takes you along the beautiful river Gullspång up to lake Skagern and then continues through meadows, marshes and forests.

The hostel is centrally located just a stone’s throw from the rail-cycles and railway tracks, and has cosy double and multiple-bed rooms. In the morning you can wake up to a delicious buffet, if you wish. You’re also welcome to cook breakfast and meals yourself in a well-equipped kitchen set up for self-catering.

Besides the rail-cycles, you can rent ordinary bikes at the hostel. Whether you walk or ride, it is wonderful to take the old pilgrim route. The traditional village roads that surround the lake are well maintained and if you feel like having a swim, there are many opportunities to cool off at sandy beaches. Do not miss a visit to the Södra Råda old church site. Once one of Europe’s most interesting medieval churches, it burned down a number of years ago and is now being rebuilt using traditional methods, and this fascinating work can be followed on site with guided tours.

    This symbol shows that the hostel conforms to recommendations from the De Handikappades Riksorganisation (DHR): the entrance is level, or there is a ramp with maximum gradient 5 cm/m. The front door of the hostel and doors into the guest rooms and toilets are wider than 80 cm. There is at least 80 cm free space at the side of the lavatory and 130 cm in front.
