STF Hostel Forsvik

There has been industry in Forsvik for 600 years. It began with a saw, a hammer and a mill, all powered by water. Forsviks Bruk (mill), where the hostel is situated, offers a fascinating insight into the area’s industrial history and cultural heritage.

The hostel is situated in a former workers’ dwelling. Careful renovation using traditional methods has resulted in a modern hostel with an old-fashioned environment; retaining original features like iron nails, wood panelled walls and scrubbed floors.

During the summer months Forsviks Bruk becomes an arena for theatre, dance and music, where the industrial environment offers a creative and expressive atmosphere.
