Symbol explanations

The Knallestaden - travelling sales people town - of Borås carries on the tradition with many mail-order companies and the Knalleland theme park. Borås also has a dramatic landscape and rich cultural heritage.

The hostel is part of a large campsite where you can rent boats, canoes and pedal boats. In connection to the hostel there are hiking trails, jogging tracks and opportunities for swimming in both the lake and outdoor swimming pool. Borås Djurpark (animal park) is also situated very close to the hostel. There are excellent opportunities to fish in the Viskan, a river that runs through the area.

The surrounding landscape is rich in history and Sundholmens Slottsruin (castle ruin) and Torpa Stenhus (stone house) are popular destinations. Both are medieval fortresses with fascinating histories, set in an area that has been inhabited since the Stone Age. In the vicinity of Borås there are several nature reserves and outdoor areas with excellent trails and paths, steep cliffs and breathtaking views.
