Comfortable accommodation on Lugnåsberget with a view over Kinnekulle, only 3 km from the E20. Convenient for those travelling through, and you can experience a robber’s den, a millstone mine, a biosphere region, forests and lakes.
The hostel is on Lugnåsberget, which is the lowest plateau hill in Västergötland, and gives a view over Kinnekulle. A peaceful and natural world is waiting for you here, while some of the residents (cheeky goats and cows) offer some excitement. If it gets too much for you, take a cycle trip through the forest. Or why not walk Stenhuggarstigen, or visit Kvarnstensgruvan?
Large experiences on a small scale await you here. Within 5 km of the hostel you can find deep forest and a modern pizza house, calm forest tarns and the E20 highway. You can learn about the history of the farmer and the intimate natural world. You can travel along winding gravel roads, and be amazed at the ability of humans to create in stone.
The hostel has been fully rebuilt and reopened in July 2011, with newly built rooms in refurbished premises at an old smallholding. All rooms are en suite with their own entrance, and a common veranda.
It is easy to find us from the major roads, just follow the road up the hill towards Lugnås Church. There is ample parking space close to the rooms, as well. A bus stop and train station lie within 3-5 km if you want to travel here using climate-sensitive transport, and we will be happy to fetch you if you don’t want to walk the distance. Once arrived, you will find much to discover here by foot or by cycle.
We are conveniently located for many of the tourist attractions of Västergötland such as Vänern, the Göta canal, Kinnekulle, Läckö, Hornborgasjön and Skara Sommarland. It is also easy to reach these by bus and train, and there are many alternative destinations that offer extra experiences. We will be happy to help you sort out the right bus and train connections.
