STF Hotel & Hostel Tiveden

Experience the forests, fishing, and arts and crafts of Tiveden, and get to know the animals in our small-scale farm. We are in the small village of Häggeboda by a lake, Unden. The hostel is a 19th century building, while the hotel premises are modern.

Tiveden is Eldorado for those looking for experiences of nature, and for walkers. There are many fine walking trails and paths to discover. We will be happy to help our guests find suitable routes. And there are fine trails for those looking to discover mysterious Tiveden on horseback or by cycle.

There are many rich fishing waters here. The Unden is closest to us, with its crystal-clear water famous for its stocks of char. The most popular fishing here is rod-and-line fishing for whitefish, perch and pike. We rent out rowing boats and equipment for family outings, and we also have both Canadian and kayak canoes for rent.

The hostel has a members’ kitchen and common room and is housed in a newly refurbished 19th century house, while the hotel with the reception, shop and restaurant are in a more modern building.

We conduct small-scale farming here with sheep and goats, who graze on the land leading down to the waterside and keep the landscape open. Our guests are welcome to participate and to meet the animals.

We are located in Häggeboda, a small village in the forested region of Tiveden, on the eastern shore of Unden. The village is a centre of cultural history and of a living landscape. The best strawberries in the region were cultivated here until the 1950s, but agriculture now is dominated by horse breeding, sheep farming and forestry.

Tiveden has become a centre for artists and craftsfolk. The closest one to us is Häggeboda Glas, which manufactures artistic glass inspired by the natural world, using fusing technology.
