STF Hostel Hammarö/Skoghall

Hammarö is an island situated in the northern part of lake Vänern, south of Karlstad.

The island’s coastline has enchanting views over the Vänern archipelago and attracts many people to its shallow bathing bays, cliff beaches and beautiful west coast nature.

Guests at the hostel stay in double or multiple-bed rooms, all with a shower and toilet, and have use of a shared kitchen.

Hammarö is also rich in culture, ancient monuments and attractions. Skage lighthouse, built in 1872, and Hammarö bird station are popular, and Hammarö kyrka, a church that dates back to the 12th century, is well worth a visit. The island also offers fantastic opportunities for sailing, canoeing, fishing and swimming.
