STF Hostel Vaxholm/Bogesund

Vaxholm is the capital of the archipelago and gateway to Roslagen, the coastal area of Uppland.

This charming and idyllic town serves as a junction for boat traffic between the middle and northern archipelagos, and has charming boutiques, entertainment, galleries and ocean bathing right in the heart of the town.

The slottsvandrarhems (castle hostel’s) closest neighbours are horse paddocks and the castle of Bogesund. Guests are accommodated in double or multiple-bed rooms and have access to a shared kitchen. The old gardener’s quarters have been replaced by a cosy café serving homemade breads and pastries.

The chapel of Vaxholm is one of the sights nearby and at Bogesund castle a ‘White Lady’ is said to haunt the rooms. Sea life, golfing and sunbathing on the rocks by the ocean are always close in Vaxholm.
