The hostel in Vimmerby is painted red with white borders, as befits Astrid Lindgren’s part of Småland. It’s located beside a farm a few kilometres from Vimmerby, not far from the children’s favourite summer destination Astrid Lindgren’s World.

Astrid Lindgren is the reason many people flock to Vimmerby and a visit to Sevedstorp (Bullerbyn) or Gibberyd (Katthult) is a wonderful experience for anyone who has grown up with her stories and movies. But Vimmerby is more than that: it’s a picturesque town with well-preserved urban buildings lining Storgatan. The hostel offers peaceful outdoor surroundings, and Borstingen, a clear spring lake with a lovely bathing place is nearby. Nossenbadet is also close and is regarded as the best bathing place in Vimmerby, attracting many swimmers in summer.

The front door of the hostel and doors into the guest rooms and toilets are wider than 80 cm. There is at least 80 cm free space at the side of the lavatory and 130 cm in front.
