Osaby Manor has been a noble home for several families since the 14th century. The oak trees are living memories, having witnessed the many generations who have worked hard and dedicated their lives for Osaby since the 17th century.
Today the manor is owned by Naturskyddsföreningen - the Swedish Society for Nature Conservation - and is peacefully situated close to the lake in expansive grounds. There are many buildings that belong to the manor and the hostel is located in the old coachman’s quarters. A small orangery and an herbal garden are also part of the manor and are accessible throughout the year, providing a calm place for meditation and relaxation.
A walk along the path through the grounds reveals many historical traces in the landscape. In Osaby there are a number of ancient monuments like stone grave chambers, cairns and rugged stone fences, which were built at a time when labourers were plentiful and removed the stones to clear the land for farming.
