STF Hostel Eksjö
You don’t have to be hoisted up the flagpole like Little Ida in Astrid Lindgren’s ‘Emil’s Pranks’ to see and experience the genuine Småland.
Eksjö offers a thriving culture and is one of the best examples of a preserved wooden town in the country, offering a unique cultural treasure that is also inhabited and alive.
All of Eksjö’s inner city is classified as historically significant. The hostel is also listed as a building of historical significance and is located in the heart of the old town. Two buildings that date from the 17th and 19th century, Färgaren and Garvaren, accommodate our guests and plenty of history. Each room is connected to a shower and toilet.
The river Eksjöån flows just outside. Gardens and cobblestone streets surround the hostel, which is walking distance to shopping, museums, lake swimming and fishing. Even the small villages around Eksjö open their arms to visitors. In Mariannelund you can visit an authentic sweet shop, which makes delicious old-fashioned market sweets.
