Vittsjö is an idyll in Skåne, an historical border region and genuine Göinge neighbourhood - where Danish and Swedish troops fought against each other in bloody battles that took place in the deep woods.

Most of the buildings from this time have been burned down or destroyed, but there are several historical relics still intact and at Hovdala Slott (castle) visitors can witness the area’s colourful history. Many people visit the Hovdala countryside to enjoy the lovely scenery and to bike ride or hike along its trails.

The hostel in Vittsjö lies by a fragrant pine forest and scenic surroundings, just by the Skånelede (Skåne trail), which leads you through the Snapphane region. The hostel offers guests a pleasant stay within walking distance of a bathing lake. There are also tennis courts, golf courses and canoe and boat rental in close proximity.
