STF Hostel Skåne Tranås

In the heart of Österlen, where the old stagecoach roads meet, lies STF Skåne Tranås. The hostel is situated in the centre of the historic village in a half-timbered house beside the charming cobblestone square, facing the old millpond.

The historic 17th-century water mill was thankfully rescued and today the hostel consists of three buildings: the Kvarnen (mill), Smedjan (smithy) and Skrädderiet (tailor shop). Restorations and new additions have been carefully carried out, and trout still jump in the millpond while bats circle in the lamplight on long summer evenings.

The hostel is an excellent starting point if you wish to experience Österlen for a few days. The rolling countryside dotted with old farms, magnificent castles, fishing villages that still smell of tar, beautiful beaches and large apple groves make Österlen an absolute gem in idyllic Skåne.
