Skate capital of Sweden

Malmö is the unmistakable skating capital of Sweden. You certainly need to come here to try the skating parks out. If you don’t skate yourself, it’s almost as cool just standing aside watching. Don’t forget to try the wall for climbing nearby! Really fun!

Only a kilometre from the hostel you find Bryggeriet, the biggest indoor skate park of Scandinavia. In the recently built Western Harbour, the outdoor arena Stapelbädden is situated. This is one of the best courses of Europe, built by pros for pros. Here, the world’s best skaters swirl over the velvet-soft concrete in annual competitions. Above all however, the majority of those hanging out in Stapelbädden are young people, trying new tricks and catching up with friends.

Are you not a skater? Doesn’t matter; go there anyway, it’s great fun to look at! You’re guaranteed both to feel the temptation of trying yourself – and some wishful thinking that you didn’t have that terrible a distance to the ground these days; no skater can avoid bruises and  wounds, despite both elbow and knee protections.
