A city in change
Malmö is a city in change. There are diggings and constructions sites all over the place, and a modern city is taking shape. The Western Harbour is the newest additional. Neighbouring the sea, you spot exciting architecture, restaurants and coffee hang-outs. Well suited for a lovely day by the sea.
Turning Torso is situated in the Western Harbour, well worth a visit. In this area you can go for a stroll, having the sea constantly present. This also makes it a popular place during the summer for swimming, for young ones as well as adults. The people of Malmö have quickly taken this part of the town to their hearts and happily spend their time there. A sunny day the whole area is all swarmed by strollers, café guests and pick-nick baskets.
In the Western Harbour, a new housing area is spreading on what used to be industry grounds and sea bottom. For the housing exhibition in 2001, numerous spectacular houses were built along the seaside. Get fascinated by different solutions and shapes. Follow the sea and the wind and sit down on the soft boulders and listen to the waves. Have a coffee at one of the beach walks or enjoy a tasteful dinner at one of the ecological restaurants while the sun sets over the bridge to neighbouring Denmark.
