STF Hostel Omberg/Stocklycke

STF Omberg/Stocklycke is the place to stay if you’re looking to rest the soul and have wonderful outdoor experiences. It is peaceful and quiet here - only birdsong breaks the silence.

Drottning Omma, the ancient and eternal queen of the mountain, oversees that everything is as it should be.

People have long been living and working here, and the area was once a farm belonging to the Alvastra monastery. The hostel is one of Sweden’s oldest and lies in the middle of the beech woods of Omberg, a couple of hundred meters from lake Vättern. Spring and summer see a magnificent bloom of flowers, including Lily of the Valley, Hepatica and a variety of splendid Orchids. Several hiking trails begin here, and those looking to cool off can jump into the fresh waters of the lake from the cliffs in Stocklycke harbour.
