STF Hostel Norrköping/Åby

In Norrköping’s oldest Art Nouveau building, built in 1906, is the STF Norrköping/Åby Hostel. There are several bathing lakes and areas of natural beauty in the surrounding area.

Proximity to the many events in Norrköping makes Åby a pleasant place with many possibilities. The hostel building has fulfilled many functions over the years. It has been a local government office, a school dining hall, the parish registrar’s office, the school doctor’s surgery and a classroom. It has even been a police station and you can still stay in one of the old cells, which have been preserved and still have bars at the windows.

The hostel is in Åby centre where there are shops, restaurants, a bank, a pharmacy, and good communications for outings. Every summer a large sports camp is arranged nearby for children and young people.  Norrköping Horse Show is held every year just 500 metres from the hostel. It is possible to rent the entire building which is perfect for parties, large family gatherings and other arrangements, with its large assembly hall and possibilities for the guests to stay overnight.

From the hostel it is 7 kilometres to Norrköping, 2 kilometres to the nearest golf course and ski slope and 10 kilometres to Kolmården Zoo.
