STF Hostel Motala/Varamon

Varamon is the largest swimming place in Scandinavia, and lies beside lake Vättern in Motala. The 5-km long white sandy beach attracts many locals and tourists. The child-friendly beach is shallow and is quick to warm in spring.

At Varamon you can try windsurfing and water-skiing or rent a canoe and experience lake Vättern from the water. The hostel is situated beside the beach with fantastic views over Varamoviken bay.

Beyond Varamoviken there is a nature reserve with several islands, which attracts many to its rich outdoor life. Råssnäsudden is also not far from Varamon, and is another scenic area with two popular bathing places, including a dive tower, charming marina, lovely walking fields and green areas for games and play.
