Öland is an oasis for nature and sun lovers and has beautiful bathing beaches, historic places of interest and the limestone barren plains of Storra Alvaret.

From Alvaret there are lovely views across Kalmarsund, while the many special and rare plants and animals found in the area offer great nature experiences.

The hostel has welcomed guests in Borgholm since 1942, and is perhaps best known for its picturesque and charming garden café. The hostel consists of nine individual double rooms and multiple-bed rooms and was nominated in 2005 as ‘Newcomer of the Year’ by the Swedish Tourist Association (STF). During the summer season the hostel is the chosen meeting place for summer guests and locals, with its delicious fruit pies and great musical entertainment.

The hostel lies in the middle of Borgholm within walking distance of the beautiful castle woods and excellent trails that lead to many destinations, including the royal summerhouse Solliden and the Italian gardens. There are bathing places nearby and just a few kilometres to the north you will find one of the more famous beaches in Köpingsvik.
