Ammarnäs - Hemavan

This is the southernmost portion of the Kungsleden trail consisting of six stages – each one with its own special characteristic. Mile-wide vistas blend with dramatic alpine valleys making this trail into a passage through majestic natural wonders.

The Vindelfjällen Nature Reserve is the largest in Europe. Home to one of the largest populations of Arctic fox, the varying environments create conditions for a great diversity in both flora and fauna.

STF has 5 mountain stations in the reserve. This is your chance to “travel light” as there are provisions to buy at all stations. The short distances between the stations give you the time to sit down and enjoy yourself as you engage in some diversions of your own whenever you feel like it.
