Hukejaure mountain hut is located on Nordkalott Trail, west of Sälka and Kungsleden (Royal Trail). The area around Hukejaure invites you into a barren landscape with rolling and challenging terrain.
The fishing in the whole area is good, both summer and winter.
Parts of the nearby surroundings are comprised of large rocky terrain. Your imagination is easily tempted to think about stone-throwing giants and what is hiding behind the next big stone – made for creating stories if you succeed in getting the kids all the way here.
If you’re truly lucky, you can come across snowy owl and artic fox in the region. And of course, do an outing to Ivarsten, a boundary stone near Norway with royal inscriptions.
