Children may stay for free at the youth hostel until and including the year they turn two years of age. This applies provided the child does not occupy a bed of its own. Travellers over the age of 15 are considered adults.

Group and conference bookings are not possible via the online booking system. Please contact the facility in question directly concerning any such inquiries. Child prices do not apply to group bookings.

Important information concerning card payment at STF mountain cabins!

During the winter and summer season in 2013, it will not be possible to pay with debit or credit cards at our mountain cabins located off the beaten track. Of course, we offer alternative solutions if you don't carry cash!

News: Prepayment of accomodation in our mountain cabins!

Now you have de opportunity to prepay your accommodation in our huts located of the beaten track. We have more than 40 cozy mountain huts in the Swedish mountain area, from Dalarna in the south to Lapland in the north.

The hut is in the Vålådalen Nature Reserve, in a low mountain region thick with boulders. Full of smaller bog zones, lakes and meres, the region is a paradise for mountain fishing. There is also plenty of cloudberries and blueberries.

From the hut, you can climb Stora Anahögen, the nearest high mountain peak. The trail towards Vallbo goes over a high mountain pass with a nice view over the Vattensjö lakes and the Ott mountains.

Hosjöbottnarnas Sámi camp with its private lodging is located between the Höglekar Valley and Anaris. Another Sámi camp was previously near the hut and a couple peat tents are still maintained. There are also signs of reindeer fencing, built of interlacing birch stems.

  • Populär "minst besökta" stuga

    Någonstans hade vi läst att detta är STF:s minst besökta stuga, och under skidfärden dit spekulerade vi i om det skulle vara någon mer där, eller om vi skulle bli ensamma med en "socialt utsvulten" stugvärd. Stugvärden hade, visade det sig, lämnat stugan en vecka tidigare. Men ensamma blev vi inte. Istället blev det "överfullt". 12 personer och en hund fick samsas om 10 bäddar och två golv. Men det går och det är en upplevelse i sig att erfara hur bra och hänsynsfullt det kan fungera att bo tillsammans med okända människor i ett trångt litet rum! Jag vill också passa på att avråda från "Förbetalning av boende i fjällstugor" som STF lanserat. Man får INGENTING extra för detta, jämfört med att betala i efterhand. I fjällstugorna är man ju alltid garanterad plats, vilket naturligtvis är en utmärkt regel. Vi köpte lite godis i Anarisstugan och det har vi betalat i efterhand. På samma enkla och smidiga sätt hade vi också kunnat betala själva boendet i efterhand. Nackdelen med att betala i förskott är att man riskerar att bli lite för "mentalt fastlåst" vid en viss rutt. Vi planerade att fortsätta till Lunndörrsstugan, som vi också hade förbetalt, men halvvägs dit bedömde vi att det var så hård vind att det var säkrare att gå till Vålådalen. Det faktum att vi hade förbetalt gjorde att vi ändå övervägde att ta en väg som vi annars av säkerhetsskäl enklare hade avstått ifrån. Vi valde trots detta att gå till Vålådalen och eftersom det inte är en fjällstuga så gällde inte betalningen där. Förbetalningen verkar därmed ha gått förlorad. I den situation som vi befann oss så var det ändå ett riktigt beslut, det hade varit dumt att riskera säkerheten för ett antal hundralappars skull. Men, vi borde inte ha försatt oss i situationen att behöva välja mellan å ena sidan säkerhet och å andra sidan att utnyttja en förhandsbetalning. Särskilt inte när förhandsbetalningen inte ger någonting extra jämfört med ett betala i efterskott. Vi kommer inte att betala i förhand igen och vi vill starkt rekommendera andra att inte utnyttja den möjligheten. Sätt er inte i en dum och meningslös valsituation!
