How long is the distance between the cabins and the stations?
From a general point of view the distances between the cabins and stations in Jämtland are about 15-20 km, some shorter and some longer. It is 16 km between Storulvån-Sylarna, 19 km between Sylarna-Blåhammaren and 12 km between Blåhammaren-Storulvån. If you start at Gåsen you will have 19 km to Sylarna and 20 km to Storulvån.
Do I need to book my bed at Gåsen in advance?
The mountain cabins (Gåsen, Lunndörren etc) cannot be booked in advance. They will however guarantee everyone coming there a bed to sleep in, no matter how many guests they have!
What is the weather like?
The weather in the mountains is known for shifting fast and often. It is very hard to give an exact forecast and you should always be prepared
Is it allowed to camp here?
Naturally! If you want to put your tent up close to the station and use the facilities there you pay a small fee in the reception.
