Ljungdalen is a genuine mountain village and the gateway to Ljungdalsfjället, which forms a large part of the southernmost mountain range in Sweden. This is a place of untouched wilderness and peace, despite being a tourist destination for nearly a century.

It’s also a great starting point for excursions to Helagsfjället, where the first mountain cabin is preserved as a museum at the foot of the mountain.

There are shops, restaurants and services in Ljungdalen, while the hostel offers wonderful accommodation with well-maintained ski trails just around the corner. Skis, canoes and mountain bikes can all be hired, depending on the weather and the season. Fishing is also popular in Ljungdalen during summer and winter. The Sölvbacka streams, Storsjön and other mountain lakes attract many avid anglers throughout the year. There are also guided fishing tours for those with less fishing experience.

The front door of the hostel and doors into the guest rooms and toilets are wider than 80 cm. There is at least 80 cm free space at the side of the lavatory and 130 cm in front. The shower is suitable for use by persons with disabilities. There is wheelchair access to kitchens and common rooms. At least two rooms are suitable for use by persons with disabilities.
