STF Mountain hut Rogen
The hut is on a promontory in Lake Rogen. The area around the lake is a mosaic of meandering small lakes, promontories and capes, and is a fantastic place for paddling and fishing. After a day in the water world, take a breather in the hut’s sauna.
Rogen is most likely an old settlement. Graves from the Bronze Age have been discovered near the hut and stone slab paintings thousands of years old are in the area. The county’s longest system of trapping pits, which are over ten kilometres long, are also in the area.
In addition to exploring the water system, a hike in an ancient wolf lichen-rich pine forest by the hut is a magical activity. Wolf lichen is intensely green wherever it clings to old pines and gives a truly special character to the landscape.

You cannot book a bed in a mountain hut. You are, however, guaranteed a roof over your head. There are extra mattresses for those days when all the beds are taken.
