STF Hostel Edsbyn

Farming is the backbone of the rich cultural heritage of Hälsingland and forms a strong part of the region’s identity.

Unlike in other areas, farmers from the Voxnan river valley never sold their woodland, and became wealthy from the timber and flax. Evidence of this can be seen in the magnificent farms that surround the river and the adjacent lakes.

The hostel, which is commonly known as ‘Doma’, is situated on a former farm in a beautiful location near to Stora Hälsingegårdars Road. It has been carefully renovated to retain its original character and charm.

The Voxnan meanders like a winding road on its journey towards the coast. Birds love it here and in spring the entire valley sings. The riverside is forever changing and the beaches that line it range from steep and sloping to long and sandy. Its waters invite great fishing, canoeing, bathing and meditation. All of Hälsingland bids you a warm welcome.
