Falkberget, which was one of Sweden’s most distinguished motels when it was built in 1967, is just a stone’s throw from Ätran and not much further from its outlet into Kattegatt.

There is a choice of unique natural experiences, sport and shopping. In Ätran there is plentiful salmon fishing, there are good opportunities for canoeing and the paths along the banks of Ätran lead right into the centre of Falkenberg and the old town, Gamla Stan. A bicycle is an excellent means of transport if you want to explore Falkenberg and the surrounding area. Halland’s cycle trail, Ginstleden, passes by our door and we rent out bicycles.

In the immediate vicinity, there are also our kilometre long sandy beaches for sea bathing and beautiful rambling areas. If you are interested in birds, we are close to the stony spit, Morups Tånge, which stretches a long way out into the sea. This area is one of Sweden’s finest bird habitats.

Handicrafts and artwork are on sale in all the farm shops in the surrounding countryside and it is only 30 kilometres to good shopping at Gekås in Ullared. Falkenberg is a fair-sized sports town with facilities for most sports and we are famous for our training camps. Among other things you will find Sweden’s only 50 metre indoor salt water swimming pool, Klitterbadet.

This symbol shows that the hostel conforms to recommendations from the De Handikappades Riksorganisation (DHR): the entrance is level, or there is a ramp with maximum gradient 5 cm/m. The front door of the hostel and doors into the guest rooms and toilets are wider than 80 cm. There is at least 80 cm free space at the side of the lavatory and 130 cm in front. The shower is suitable for use by persons with disabilities. There is wheelchair access to kitchens and common rooms. At least two rooms are suitable for use by persons with disabilities.
