STF Hostel Tingstäde G:a Jernvägshotellet

The hostel is incorporated in the old Jernvägshotellet ‘railway hotel’ in the heart of Tingstäde village, and parts of the building are completely newly built.

Enjoy the natural beauty and child-friendly surroundings with plenty of space for rest and play in the large and heavily-wooded garden. The popular lake, Tingstäde träsk, is just a few hundred metres away and offers great swimming and fishing.

Tingstäde is an old and genuine little village, located around 12 miles north of Visby. It is perhaps best known as the birthplace of 17th-Century canal builder and scientist Christoffer Polhem. His childhood home, Polhemsgården, is now a popular ‘folklore garden’, which holds many activities and events during the year.
