STF Hostel Årsunda/Sjösunda

Right in the middle of a long sandy beach lie Strandvilla and modern beach cabins. The beach entices visitors in the summer with many activities. Our beach cabins are suitable for use by people with disabilities, with a ramp that reaches the water.

We have six attractive twin rooms in the main building, and we have two modern beach cabins that can take up to seven people each. During the summer we organise a Water Camp, which gives children the opportunity to experience and learn water activities such as water skiing, sailing and fishing in one of the richest perch waters in Sweden.

When the weather is unsuitable for the beach, visit the Årsunda Viking Museum, which is just a short walk away. Here you can forge your own Viking jewellery in the smithy’s workshop and take a tour of discovery in the Viking village. In the winter, you can go ice fishing in the excellent perch waters here, and our accommodation is ideal for those who are using the Kungsberget alpine skiing facility.

Host Tommy will be happy to tell you about other attractions close to Sjösunda, and lend bathing toys to children. In the evenings, after a day on the beach or on outings, you may like to sit on the veranda of one of the beach cabins and enjoy the beautiful view across the water. Maybe you should get the barbecue at Strandvilla going and grill something tasty as the sun goes down. The two modern beach cabins are suitable for use by people with disabilities. Come to Sjösunda, alone or with a group, to enjoy life on the beach and a warm welcome in a fine old building. Sjösunda is open throughout the year.

    This symbol shows that the hostel conforms to recommendations from the De Handikappades Riksorganisation (DHR): the entrance is level, or there is a ramp with maximum gradient 5 cm/m.
