STF Hostel Leksand

The hostel is one of the Swedish Tourist Association's oldest hostels in Sweden. In this beautiful environment operations began with a blanket and a place on the haystack for 25 öre (Swedish cents).

Today you stay at the same genuine wooden farmstead, but with all the comforts that a modern tourist could wish for. The hostel is beautifully situated beside the mountain Källberget a couple of kilometres outside Leksand and is a place for the whole family to enjoy.

Leksand and Siljansbygden (the Siljan district) attract a stream of visitors each year to experience its beauty and traditions. Stunning unspoiled landscapes and historical buildings welcome you, along with a rich offering of culture including festivals, music and plays throughout the summer season. Music beside lake Siljan and Himlaspelet (an annual show) are two major attractions for those who want to experience the real Dalarna.

The front door of the hostel and doors into the guest rooms and toilets are wider than 80 cm. There is at least 80 cm free space at the side of the lavatory and 130 cm in front. The shower is suitable for use by persons with disabilities. There is wheelchair access to kitchens and common rooms. At least two rooms are suitable for use by persons with disabilities.
