STF Mountain hut Storrödtjärn
Trails around the mountain hut are easily hiked, but the terrain along the trails is full of boulders and difficult to reach. The region has traces of ancient Sámi culture and reindeer breeding in the area is run by Idre Sámi village.
Socially structured, a Sámi village or siida is a reindeer foraging area, a group for reindeer herding and a corporation working for the economic benefit of its members all in one.
The hut is in the Långfjället Nature Reserve, bordering Rogen Nature Reserve and close to Töfsingdalen National Park. Located in the bare mountain region, the view from the hut is captivating. An alpine tour to the Slagu mountains gives you a view over much of Rogen Nature Reserve.

You cannot book a bed in a mountain hut. You are, however, guaranteed a roof over your head. There are extra mattresses for those days when all the beds are taken.
