STF Hotel & Hostel Fjällbacka/Valö

Crime writer Camilla Läckberg has recently put Fjällbacka on the map for many Swedes. But the archipelago has a much richer history than just that: it was in these dreamy surroundings that Ingrid Bergman spent her summers far away from the stage lights.

The amazing landscape and history of the Bohuslän and Fjällbacka archipelagos have fascinated many throughout the centuries.

Valö is a small fishing village situated on the outer rim of the coastal line, a five minute boat trip from Fjällbacka jetty. At Valö you will find the hostel and first class accommodation in newly renovated, individually decorated and wonderfully comfortable rooms. There’s a lovely sandy beach close by in the middle of the granite of Bohuslän. The hostel is situated in spacious surroundings, with plenty of room for games and social activities for the whole family.

It’s easy to get to different places and islands from Valö. On the island you can rent a kayak or boat and there are also excursions to the nature reserve on Väderöarna, just an hour away by boat due west.
