STF Hostel Bohus/Björkö

Björkö is situated just outside Göteborg, and it’s easy to see that fishing has played an important role here for centuries. The harbour in Björkö is still the natural centre of the island and an attractive meeting place during summer.

The fabulous location of Björkö between Göteborg and Marstrand has attracted holidaying summer guests since the 19th century. The seaside resort atmosphere is still enjoyed today and in the harbour boat tourists, summer guests and locals meet for a walk in the evening sun or a bite to eat in the inviting tavern by the harbour.

You are welcome to stay a few days on Björkö. Here you can rent boats and canoes, or if you don’t want to steer the boat yourself, take a guided seal safari or fishing tour. The hostel is located in a former health resort and has recently undergone a full renovation, with new rooms and a new restaurant kitchen. There are twin rooms and dormitories with toilets and showers located along the corridor. The hostel is located in the direct vicinity of the archipelago, allowing you to enjoy a peaceful morning walk just a stone’s throw from the ocean, or find your own cliff for sunbathing and an evening dip in the ocean.
