STF Hostel Järnavik
Blekinge is known as the Garden of Sweden due to its stunning landscape, which is why it’s easy to forget that you’re also beside a stretch of picturesque coast that contains the southernmost archipelago in Sweden.
The town of Järnavik, best known for its old harbour, is located in this beautiful region and began to prosper in the 1830’s when businessman Johan Henrik Kock opened a business shipping traffic across Järnavik.
The hostel building originates from this time and has been carefully renovated to retain its style and unique character. Small and friendly, the hostel is wonderfully located in a nature reserve next to Järnavik, where there’s a harbour for leisure yachts as well as boat connections to Tjärö. If you wish to explore the southernmost archipelago in Sweden we recommend a paddling tour with a sea kayak or a tour on an archipelago boat to Tjärö. If you are feeling active, a hike around the nature reserve offers captivating views of the sea. Or why not walk the Blekinge trail which passes outside the hostel or take a biking tour along the coast?
