STF Hostel Ebbamåla Bruk
The Ebbamåla Bruk hostel is located along Mörrumsån, the best salmon river in Europe, on the site of an old mill in the heart of the ‘Garden of Sweden’. The hostel was once a residence for the mill’s casters, smiths and shop workers.
Today, the rooms and flats have been carefully restored allowing you to feel the wing strokes of history from the early 20th century.
Around the mill there are great opportunities to explore the beautiful landscape and rich cultural experiences on offer. Hike along the Laxaleden salmon trail which follows the voyage of the salmon in the Mörrumsån or fish in its world-famous waters. Enjoy breakfast at the quay and if you’re lucky, you might catch a glimpse of a heron, kingfisher or white-tailed eagle.
The mill is a fascinating tourist destination and prize-winning industrial relic. It is open throughout summer with daily tours. The most popular events during summer are the Järnnätterna ‘Iron Nights’, when history comes alive and iron is formed traditionally in the foundry and smithy by skilled tradesmen.
